With our 24/7 communal support and accountability, we ensure that you or your loved one have the best care available to achieve total recovery from chemical abuse and addictions.

Our Mission

  • Mandatory attendance of 12-Step meetings, sponsorship, and active involvement in working the steps.
  • Required service commitments and home group participation for residents.
  • Implementation of curfews and daily chores with close monitoring by the house manager.
  • The presence of a house manager living on-site, providing 24/7 availability.

Our Team

Bryan Carroll

Founder & President

Born and raised in Phoenix, AZ, Bryan started using drugs at the age of 15. He later moved to Wichita, KS, seeking a way out of the destructive lifestyle he had created. Despite several failed attempts to break free from drugs and alcohol, it was during his time in jail, after a series of arrests in 2015, that Bryan made a life-changing agreement with God. Since then, he has been clean and sober, dedicating his time and energy to building Hemingway Unchained and helping others achieve sobriety.

Finally in 2015 after a series of arrests while Bryan was in jail, he made an agreement with God that he wanted to change his life forever. Bryan has never looked back!  Bryan has been clean and sober since 2015 and has put his time and energy into building Hemingway Unchained to help others gain sobriety.

Larisa Beagle

Assistant Program Director

Larisa, originally from Oklahoma, moved to Kansas after her mother’s tragic death caused by a drunk driver when she was just three years old. Growing up in the foster care system, Larisa experienced the detrimental effects of drug activity from an early age. Following the loss of her father in 2014 and the tragic death of her eight-year-old son in a house fire, Larisa fell into a deep depression. Her addiction led to 14 felony charges, the loss of her daughter to the foster care system, and an awakening to turn her life around. Since January 5th, 2019, Larisa has been clean and sober, focusing on raising her daughter in a safe and stable home. As the Assistant Program Director at Hemingway Unchained, Larisa is passionate about helping other women like herself regain hope and a brighter future.
